Bidco Oil Refineries Ltd has joined United Nations Global Compact as an official member.

UN Global Compact is an initiative by United Nations to align the objectives of the International community and those of the business world, through common goals such as combating corruption; building markets; safeguarding the environment; and ensuring social inclusion.

Launched in July 2000, the UN Global Compact, is both a policy platform and a practical framework for companies that are committed to sustainability and responsible business practices and is aimed at ensuring openness between businesses, governments, civil society, labor and the United Nations

It seeks to combine the best properties of the UN, such as moral authority and convening power, with the private sector’s solution-finding strengths and resources, and the expertise and capacities of other key stakeholders. The initiative is global and local; private and public; voluntary, yet accountable.

The initiative asks companies to embrace, support and enact, within their sphere of influence, a set of core values in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment, and anti-corruption.

This is a strong demonstration of BIDCO’s leadership and vision in advancing the tenets of corporate sustainability and the principles of the UN Global Compact.
